Dr. Karl Grubaugh
Karl K. Grubaugh, M.D., 76, of Woodville, died September 8, 1992 at St. Charles Hospital in Oregon.
Dr. Grubaugh was born in Mansfield on July 26, 1916 to William and Elizabeth (Kipp) Grubaugh. He and his wife Dorothy were married on July 7, 1951 in Blissfield, Mich. She died on September 28, 1990.
Dr. Grubaugh was a general practitioner physician in Woodville for 35 years, retiring in 1988. He completed his undergraduate and master's degree studies at Ohio State University from 1938 to 1941. From 1946 to 1951, he studied medicine at the University of Vermont, where he received his medical degree. He also taught bacteriology at the University of Vermont from 1944 to 1946. From 1951 to 1952, he served his residency at The Toledo Hospital.
Dr. Grubaugh was a first lieutenant in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.
He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 455 in Woodville, Ohio State and American Medical Fraternity since 1947, and the Ohio State Alumni Association. He was also a member of Woodville United Methodist Chruch, F&AM Portage Masonic Lodge No. 351 of Elmore, Zenobia Temple of Toledo, Scottish Rite Association of Sandusky County in Fremont, Zenobia Temple and Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite - VAlley of Toledo, both of Tolido.
Surviving are a son, Kipp P. Grubaugh; a daughter, Kris. K. Grubaugh-Lisk; and two grandchildren.
Services were help September 11 at Robinson-Henn-Brossia Funeral Home in Woodville, with burial at Westwood Cemetery, Woodville.
Visitation was September 10 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the church.
