Horatio, known as Clarke by his siblings, was the son of George and Jane Linkletter Sharp of Prince Edward Island. He spent his early life on PEI, traveling to British Columbia around 1888. He, along with his brother, Alfred, worked in the Rossland area. He worked as a carpenter and a miner.
On Mar 26 1907, he married Kate Charlotte Riddell at St. Andrews Church in New Westminster. They had one son.
Most of his working life was in the building trades. He retired as a building contractor. According to his sister, Margaret he also liked to build violins.
He died at the age of 78 years 8 months 4 days.
