William James Webb worked as a blacksmith all his adult life and at one time owned a smithy on Allen (now Main ST) in Webb City. He was a son of Elijah Clawson Webb, early day pioneer settler in Jasper county in the farmland area that stretched from south of modern day Webb City to the Duenweg, Jasper county, Missouri area.
William's oldest brother John Cornwall 'J.C.' Webb was the founder of Webb City, Missouri.
William and Alice lived in the area that is listed on his dc as 1305 West 3rd and on hers as 305 Shenandoah. They are both the same location, which is now a small acreage that is accessed by going west of Madison Ave on 4th street. The area is now overgrown and is next to the Frisco Greenway (old Frisco RR tracks).
Funeral arrangements were under the care of Steele Undertaking company in Webb City and burial was in Webb City Cemetery. Missouri Death Certificate
