An obituary published in the Windsor Gazette for Jerome [Sam] Anderson, former Shelby County Treasurer, states he had died September 3, 1961 from an apparent heart attack, about a mile south of Windsor, as he and his wife were returning home from Lake Mattoon. Surviving besides his wife, were his mother, Mrs. Emma Anderson of Shelbyville; three daughters, Mrs. Patricia Sebright, Mrs. Iris Venters, and Linda; five sisters, Mrs. Wilma Friese of Atlanta, Ga., Mrs. Dorothy Howe, Mrs. Patsy Kensil and Mrs. Roxy Manning all of Springfield, and Mrs. Darlene Lively of Shelbyville and two grandchildren. Burial was in Glenwood Cemetery.
