Wilkerson married Mary Polly Jones in 1819 in Harlan County. Together they had 12 children. There names were: John W., Henderson, Samuel L., Edmund, Frances, Mary, Wilkerson Asher, Sarah Louisa, Calvin, Green and Jerusha.
