Born in Ballymena, County Antrim, Ireland; Mary immigrated to Boston, MA on the "SS Numidian" and arrived on December 4, 1912. Onboard this voyage, she met Margaret McAloren (later McNulty) and formed a friendship that her children long benefited from by having an "Aunt" in America.
She married Joseph M. Peake, and settled in Hudson County, New Jersey and raised their family there. She was a much sort after neighborhood midwife, delivering many of the babies in local Kearny homes.
She died in 1950 from a stroke; her wake and funeral was attended by many prestigious locals and politicians. She was predeceased by one daughter , and was buried with her and later joined by her husband, Joe, who died in 1951. She was survived by 6 children, and their families.
