Mr. Allen Thomas, 63, died on Tuesday, February 15 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center after a short illness. He was a Bulloch County native and a member of Hodges Grove Baptist Church, where he was in training to be a Deacon, serving faithfully until his health failed. He retired from Nash Finch Company as a truck driver.
He is survived by a daughter, Joy Herrington of Statesboro; a son, Don Harris of Statesboro; a sister, Inez Smith of Chicago, Ill.; two grandchildren, Devonta Davis and Jasmine Herrington, both of Statesboro; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Hodges Grove Baptist Church. The Rev. John Harmon will officiate. Burial will be held in Eastside Cemetery.
