A lifelong resident of the Freeland area, he was a son of the late Samuel and Mary
Crue Calp. He was a retired employee of the Baltimore County Highway Department. He had worked for the department 20 years within the Sixth District. He belonged to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Millers, Maryland, and held membership in Rose Fire Co., New Freedom.
Surviving are his wife; two children, W. Gilbert Calp, Monkton, and Shelva Jean Laughman, Schellsville; three grandchildren; four brothers, Myerl Calp, Millers; W. Ebertt Calp and Samuel Calp, both of Hampstead, and John Calp, Lineboro, and two sisters, Pearl Sanders, Millers and Mary Hare, Upperco.
The funeral was held from the J.J. Hartenstein
Mortuary, Second and Franklin Sts., New Freedom with the Rev. William E. Keiter, pastor of Pine Grove United Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in Pine Grove Cemetery.
