Gloria Jane Foster Childers, 73, Duncan Street, Somerset, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, July 2nd, 2006 at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Nashville, Tennessee.

She was born April 14th, 1933 in Winfield, Tennessee, daughter of the late James L. S. Foster and Marjorie S. Foster. She was a retired KY State Adult Education Worker. She was a member of the West Somerset Baptist Church, where she was a teacher of the youth for over 30 years. She loved her church, her family, and church family. The highlight of her week was sharing the word of God to the children in her class. She was dearly loved by her children and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her husband; George Everett Childers, whom she married on June 29th, 1951 in Whitley City, Kentucky by Bro. Dabney; three sons; George Anthony (and Brenda) Childers, Midway, Kentucky, Louie Allen (and Cathy) Childers, Somerset, Kentucky and Timothy Scott Childers, Somerset, Kentucky: one sister; Debra Foster (and Jamie) Shinkle: one brother; James Luther Stanley (and Judy) Foster: four grandchildren; Kyle and Karla (and Rickey) Childers, Lexington, Kentucky and Cara and Bryce Childers, Somerset, Kentucky: a host of other loving relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents: one brother; Ervin Jennings Foster III: one granddaughter; Niki Childers.

Funeral services will be 1;00 p.m., Thursday, July 5th, 2006 at West Somerset Baptist Church with Brother Larry Butte officiating. Burial will be in West Somerset Cemetery, Somerset, Kentucky. Visitation will be after 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 5th, 2006 at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, then after 10;00 a.m., Thursday, July 6th, 2006 until time for services.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the West Somerset Baptist Church Youth Fund.
