Funeral services celebrating the life of Walter S. Boteler, 81, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at Bellaire Baptist Church, Bossier City, LA. Officiating will be Dr. Randy Harper. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, Haughton, LA. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home, Haughton, LA.

Walter was born on January 14, 1930 in New Orleans, LA and passed away on October 2, 2011 in Shreveport, LA. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force where he worked as a boom operator on KC-135's. After retiring from the U.S. Air Force he worked for Northwest Louisiana State School as a Boiler Room Operator. He was a handyman and was a "Jack of All Trades." His home away from home was Barksdale Hardware. Mr. Boteler was a member of Bellaire Baptist Church.
Mr. Boteler was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Mamylee Broadway; his parents and two sisters.

Left to cherish beautiful memories of Walter are his children, Vickie Boteler and Doug Bamburg of Bossier City, LA, Veda Massa and husband Steve of La Place, LA, Randy Boteler and wife Sharon of Lexington, KY and Ronny Boteler and wife Wendy of Bossier City, LA; one sister, Joan Rainer and husband Tommy of Metairie, LA and grandchildren, Jennifer and Andrew Massa, Kristi and Katie Boteler and Jacob and Jason Boteler.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Bellaire Baptist Church, 1210 Bellaire Boulevard, Bossier City, LA 71112.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the Doctors and Nursing Staff of Dubois Hospital and Christus Schumpert Medical Center, Shreveport, LA.
