JACOB H. DUNLAP FUNERAL WEDNESDAY
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock for at the Clough-Barrick Chapel for Jacob H. Dunlap, member of an old Oregon family, who died at a local hospital May 23.
Dunlap who was born in Butler County, PA., August 10 1868, came to Oregon at the age of six years with his parents, A.R. and Harriet Dunlap. The Dunlaps who arrived in this state in 1875, made the trip west to San Francisco by Union Pacific. From San Francisco they made the trip to Portland by the steamer Ajack.
The Dunlap family settled on a farm four miles south of Salem and Jacob H. Dunlap had spent most of his life in and adjacent to Salem. He was a member of the Odd Fellows and of the Elks Lodge.
Surviving is a son Delbert Dunlap of Salem, and a cousin, Jack Nickerson of Salem.

This story isn't funny, but it's very unusual to say the least. Last week Jacob H. Dunlap, 79, resident of this area for 72 years where he has carried on his investments, had his left leg amputated by Dr. Verne Miller after gangrene had developed.
His son, Delbert O. Dunlap, 47, had his right leg taken off in 1920 by Dr. Fred Thompson as a result of an automobile accident in Eugene. Both father and son had their legs severed in about the same place. Now says the son, they'll need but one pair of shoes between them.
