His son, Delbert O. Dunlap, 47, had his right leg taken off in 1920 by Dr. Fred Thompson as a result of an automobile accident in Eugene. Both father and son had their legs severed in about the same place. Now says the son, they'll need but one pair of shoes between them.

D.O. Dunlap Set Thursday
Funeral services for Delbert O. Dunlap. 50, a native of Salem who died here Sunday, will be held Thursday at the Clough-Barrick Chapel at 10:30 a.m.
Late resident of 444 N. Winter St., Dunlap died at a local hospital.
He was born in Salem May 2, 1900, the son of Jacob H. Dunlap, who died here in 1948. Delbert attended Garfield and Lincoln schools and later Salem High School.
He was in the shoe repair business and operated a repair shop in Keizer north of Salem. He was married Jan. 27, 1929, in Salem to the former Blossom M. Harvey of Kansas.
In addition to the widow Dunlap is survived by a step-son, Melvin Sample of Salem, and mother, Mrs. Mary Webb of Sheridan.
Bishop John E. Salisbury will officiate at the funeral services and interment will be at City View Cemetery.
