Robert McClellan

Mr. Robert McClellan, 69, of Adel, Ga., died Thursday, Aug. 16, 2007, at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, Ga.

He was born Dec. 15, 1937, in Cherokee County, Ala., to the late Cress Nothorn McClellan and the late Mildred Pierce McClellan. He had lived in Cook County for many years. He was retired from civil service as a communications specialist and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was a Christian.

He is survived by a brother-in-law, Ben Cowart of Adel; a niece and her husband, Karen and Mike Redding of Adel; a great-niece, Emily Bennett; three great-nephews, Matt Bennett, Mitchell Bennett and JonMichael Redding. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Vivian Cowart and two brothers, Boyd Walter McClellan and Charles Edison McClellan.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the graveside in Empire Church Cemetery in Lanier County. The Rev. Randy Mosley will officiate. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Boone-Lipsey Funeral Home, Hwy. 41 South.

It appears most of his family passed away in Cook Co, Georgia. Perhaps they're all buried there as well.
