Evelyn G. Klinger-Hagerty, of Stroudsburg, passed away on Monday, Dec. 19, at the Pocono Medical Center, in East Stroudsburg.
Evelyn was born in East Stroudsburg, and the daughter of the late Charles and Martha Bogart Counterman. She was raised in East Stroudsburg and lived most of her life in Stroudsburg. She spent 7 years in Kentucky to help start Amco Plastic Factory. She worked as a secretary of Delcor Lab in East Stroudsburg. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Stroudsburg.
In addition to her husband Olen, she is survived by a daughter, JoAnne Collins and her husband, Carl of East Stroudsburg; two sons, Lawrence J. Zito Sr. and his wife, Kathie of Neola and Ricky Zito of Effort; four stepchildren: Mark Hagerty and his wife, Wendy of Sophia, N.C., Linda Smith and her husband, Larry of Brodheadsville, Steven Hagerty and his wife, Judy of Bartonsville and Terry Hagerty and his wife, Mae of Neola; brother-in-law, Carl Hagerty and his wife, Georgianne of Stroudsburg; seven grandchildren: Lawrence J. Zito Jr., Leigh Ann Werkheiser, Amanda and Kyle Collins, Michael and Nathalie Zito and Rickey Brown; three great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
