Allen Floyd Sluder, 51 of 40 Powell St., died Tuesday, March 29, 1994, in a local hospital.

A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was a self-employed welder and was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church.

He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War stationed in Germany. He was a member of VFW Post 801.

SURVIVORS: parents, Floyd Lethco and Catherine Shelton Sluder; sisters, Shirley Mae Brown and Joyce Ann Woodard, both of Asheville.

SERVICES: 11 a.m. Thursday, Anders-Rice Funeral Home. BURIAL: Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery. VISITATION: 7 - 9 Wednesday at the funeral home. At other times the family will be at the home of Floyd and Catherine Sluder.
