Mary Jane was the second child born to William Perry and Elizabeth Jane (Foxworthy) Conyers.
Her mother died in 1866 and her father remarried Celestia Russell who died in 1874 after arriving in Kearney Co., NE, leaving Mary Jane "mother" to 5 siblings.
She married Josiah Mathers in 1875 and became the mother to Josiah's 5 children.
Mary Jane was also the mother of eleven of her own children.
Preceding her in death was her parents, husband, Josiah, children, Fannie, Riley, Martha Maggie, and Mary.
She was survived by her children, George, Jennie, Elizabeth, Lydia, Isabella, Rachel, and Harry, and stepchildren, Lucinda, Josiah,jr., and Susan.
