O B I T U A R Y.

(WOODLAND, AL) Services for John Richard Bailey, 87, of Woodland will be Sunday, March 25, 2007, at 2 p.m. at Mt. Carmel Church of Christ, with Bro. Ricky Murphy and Bro. Wayne Spradlin officiating. Mr. Bailey will lie in state at the church for one hour before the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandsons and great-grandsons.
Mr. Bailey died Friday, March 23, 2007 at Wedowee Hospital.
Mr. Bailey was born December 16, 1919, son of John Richard Bailey Sr. and Laura Wilson Bailey. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Church of Christ and had been a textile worker at Callaway Mills. He was preceded in death by his wife, Auline Bailey; his parents; a granddaughter, Carol Worrell Turner; two brothers, Uklet and Audrey Bailey; and a son-in-law, Charles Yarbrough.
Surviving are three daughters, Rachel Worrell of LaGrange, GA and Trudy Fincher and Sharon Street of Woodland; a stepdaughter, Yvonne Edwards of Opelika; three sisters, Bertha Almond and Earla Spradlin of Woodland and Mavis Almon of Lanett; two brothers, T.V. Bailey and R.Z. Bailey of Woodland; eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
