(WOODLAND, AL) Funeral services for R.Z. Bailey, 91, of Woodland will be Saturday, October 13, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Mt. Carmel Church of Christ with Bro. Ricky Murphy, Bro. Mark Carpenter, Bro. Willbur Bass, Bro. Lee Messer and Bro Allen Daniel. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. on Friday. Mr. Bailey will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services on Saturday.
Mr. Bailey died Thursday, October 11, 2018 at his home.
A lifelong resident of Randolph County, Mr. Bailey was born March 24, 1927, the son of Richard "Bud" Bailey and Laura Wilson Bailey. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Church of Christ and had worked as a presser at Lamar Manufacturing.
Survivors include a son, Ronnie Bailey of Woodland; two grandchildren; and a sister, Bertha Almon. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice Jones Bailey; infant son; four brothers, T.V. Bailey, Audrey Bailey, Euclid Bailey and John Bailey; and five sisters, Eva Telethia Bailey, Ruth Emma Bailey, Essie Mae Bailey, Mavis Almon and Earla Spradlin.
Pallbearers will be Jack Johnson, JR Fincher, Keith Blue, Russell Bailey, John Fincher and Brad Johnson.
