Arlene graduated from Richfield High School in May 1940, after which she went to work for the local telephone company. During World War II she worked as a secretary at Tooele Army Depot. She also worked at the Richfield clinic and, after moving to Salt Lake City, she worked at the Salt Lake clinic.
She is survived by her husband Leo, of 68 years; children: Rosemary Maxfield, Newberry, FL; Rodney O (Cathy) Maxfield, Lehi; Laurie L. (Susan) Maxfield, Sandy; 11 grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers: Harold Bud, Arthur Verdon and Max L. Nielson.
An informal funeral service will be held Saturday, September 15, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. in the Magleby Mortuary Chapel, 50 South 100 West, Richfield, where friends may call from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
