Victor Stenger, 80, died at 1:26 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 11, 2012) in Mattoon Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, Mattoon, Illinois.
He was born Jan. 22, 1932 in Tuscola, Illinois, to Clarence M. and Esther Rahn Stenger. He married Phyllis Joan "Jodie" Schultz on June 21, 1952. She passed away on Nov. 10, 2008. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Dale and Darrell.
Survivors include two sons, Doug (Mark) (Susan) Stenger and Jeff (Sandy) Stenger; five grandchildren, Ashley, Matt, Kaylie, Meagan and Ryan; one great-grandchild, Jackson; one brother, Boyd (Barbara) Stenger and one sister-in-law, Joy Stenger of Tuscola.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean War.
