Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Herington-Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with visitation 6 to 9 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Mausoleum Park Cemetery, Clinton.
Memorials may be made to the John Warner Hospital.
Mr. Scott was born in Wapella, son of Thomas and Sofia (Quinton) Scott. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Clinton, the DeWitt County Farm Bureau, Roque Club of Clinton and was a former agriculture teacher at Paxton High School also a farm adviser in Clay and Douglas counties. He married Ruth W. Willson March 3, 1927 in DeWitt County.
Surviving are his wife, a son, John Q. Jr. of Minneapolis, Minn.; daughter, Mrs. Art (Joan) Lappin of Clinton; brothers, Harry of Clinton; William P. of Normal; sisters, Mrs. Bernice Ives of Clinton; Mrs. Myrtle Diemer of Pontiac; seven grandchildren. Three sisters preceded him in death.
