Dear Judy:
Yours is the only name that will appear in the Harper genealogy, but I will send you a brief sketch of our own immediate family as shown in the Norwegian bible that we have. Our family consists of -
Father - Peter M. Olsen born in Norway 1854 [sic]
Mother - Anna Marie " " " " 1877 [sic]
Jennie Marie " " " Chicago
Osborne Tirdmon [sic] " " " "
Perry Maranus " " " "
Harriet Theodora " " " "
Jennie - your grandmother had one child, a boy ... grand daughters, ...
Osborne - had two children, a boy and a girl ...
Perry - had three children - two girls and one boy. Also eleven grandchildren and six great grands. A population explosion.
Harriet - had one boy and four (4) grandsons - also four greatgrands
We seem to have become an Air Force family. Osborne's grandson, Paul, is a West Point graduate and by this time is probably a major or a lt. colonel.
Jennie's grandson, your brother Peter, is a captain in the Air Force.
Our son, Dr. Perry was a 1st lieutenant in World War I. He flew a B-17 Flying Fortress and completed 57 combat missions over Berlin and Austria. After the war he resumed his medical studies at the University. All of our children went to the University of California. Perry was Phi Beta Kappa and is now a physician and surgeon in San Jose. Betty, his wife, graduated as a registered nurse at the same time he did. Their's was a college romance just as yours was. They now have five children, four boys before they got their girl who will be seven years old tomorrow. So that is the story of your grandmother's family. The Havig Kluglands who are now just "Olsens".
We enjoyed your Christmas card and the pictures of your two good looking daughters.
Uncle Perry and Aunt Dorothy.
