Pierson, Iowa - Shirley Reinking, 95, of Pierson died Sunday, Oct. 3, 2004, Kingsley Nursing snd Rehab Center in Kingsley, Iowa.

Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Salem Lutheran Church in rural , Iowa with A.I.M. Bert Burwell officiating. Burial will be in Kingsley Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. today, with the family present 5 to 7 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Rhode-Earnest Funeral Home in Kingsley.

Shirley was born Oct. 15, 1908, in rural Anthon, the daughter of Bert and Austa (Drake) Ashley. She grew up in the Anthon area and graduated from Anthon High School. She attended Morningside College in Sioux City.

She taught in a rural school before marrying Emmert Reinking on Feb. 26, 1937, at Salem Lutheran Church. They made their home in the rural Pierson area, where they lived until 1971, at which time they moved into Pierson. Emmert died Oct. 22, 1986. After his passing, she continued to live in Pierson. In 1988, she entered Kingsley Nursing and Rehab Center.

She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church and the Vintage Vines Chapter of the Red Hat Society.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Deanna and Millard Collins of Lanark Village, Fla.; two sons and their wives, Louis and Norma Reinking and Charles and Diane Reinking, all of Kingsley; 10 grandchildren, Mike Kelly and his wife Victoria, Rodney Kelly, Scott Reinking and his wife, Mary, Teresa Reinking and her husband, Jeff Hilzinger, Jeff Reinking and his wife Molly, Kevin Reinking and his wife, Susan, Kim Reinking and her husband, Jay Juelfs, Jill Reinking and her husband, Kyle Bobolz, Gene Collins and Rick Collins and his wife, Marcie; several great grandchildren; and a brother, Frank Ashley of Lawton, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Emmert; two sisters, Doris and Maxine; and a brother, Eldon.
