FREDERICK CHARLES FAGAN
Funeral services for Frederick Charles "Zip" Fagan, 64 of 200 Old Main, Newton who died Thursday will be conducted Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Moody -Peterson Funeral Home in Newton, Kansas.
Msgr. J. G. Herrman pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Church, will officiate and burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Newton, Kansas. The body will lie in state at the funeral home prior to the services.
A retired member of the Newton Fire Department, Mr. Fagan served the department for 33 years. He was assistant chief when he retired nine years ago.
Mr. Fagan was born April 5, 1897 in Newton, Kansas and spent his entire life here.
He was a member of St. Mary's Church, International Assn. of Firefighters, Kansas State Firemen's Assn. and a past president, and a member of the Kansas State Council of Firefighters and the American Legion.
Surviving are his widow, Jessie, whom he married July 15, 1940 at Hutchinson, Kansas; a stepdaughter, Judy Foley of California; one stepson, W. L. Foley of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; three brother, Joe of Newton, Kansas and Frank and George, both of San Francisco California. Obituary contributed by Debbie.C
