VETERAN DEAD AT HILLSBORO -
Alvin L. Anderson, aged 94 years, one of the few Confederate veterans of Lawrence country, passed away on Sunday afternoon, passed away on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at his residence in Hillsboro. Mr. Anderson has also served as a Baptist preacher for some 50 years and was well known through this section.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock at the Decatur Cemetery chapel, Rev. Jesse F. Ray conducting the service. Interment will follow here, Brown directing. Members of the Masonic lodge will serve as pallbearers.

The surviving relatives include; three daughters, Mrs. Ellen Riddle, Bangor; Mrs. Laura Walker, Hillsboro; Mrs. Mary Pruit, Decatur and one son, John Anderson of Red Bay.

There are 23 grandchildren; 50 great grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren surviving the veteran.

He was the won of Simpson Anderson and Nancy Taylor and the husband of Martha Anderson. He was widowed at the time of his death of old age.
