T-SGT. BERNARD DAVIS IS MISSING IN ACTION
T-Sgt. Bernard Davis, of Emporia, of Company B, Emporia's National Guard company, has been missing in action in France since September 27, according to a telegram from the War department received by Sergeant Davis' father.
Sergeant Davis is a son of Burgress (sic) Davis, Rt. 2, Reading, and Mrs. Emma Davis, 17 1/2 West Fifth, Emporia. The last news from Sergeant Davis was in a letter received by relatives September 24. Sergeant Davis left Emporia with Co. B 137th Infantry in January 1941, and has been overseas since May, 1944.

News has been received that T-Sgt. Bernard Davis, son of Burgess Davis, Rt. 2, Reading, and Mrs. Emma Davis, 17 1/2 West Fifth, Emporia, was killed in action in France on September 27. He previously had been reported as missing in action on that day. Sergeant Davis was a member of Company B, the Emporia National Guard company. He left Emporia in January 1941. He had been overseas since May, 1944.
