Christiana was born the only daughter of Johann Peter and Anna Barbara Buckner Pickenpaugh. She had both an older and younger brother, George & Jacob. Their name also appears as Peckenpaugh. Both her parents immigrated from Baden, Germany.

Christiana married Joseph Bartholomew about 1787 in Pennsylvania. She and Joseph moved to Kentucky, near Louisville and eventually crossed the Ohio River into Clark County, Indiana settling near Springville.

Christiana died in child birth with her last of 11 children. They were as follows:

She was buried on the Bartholomew family farm that she and Joseph called home. A copy of her grandson's statement regarding her burial is shown on this memorial, however as of Aug 16, 2016 someone removed it without notifying me. I hope other descendants will add to the information about Christiana and her children. I descend through their daughter, Catharine Bartholomew McNaught (50363862).
