"Martin Milbert died at his home in Schuyler Lake on Monday morning, March 27, 1922, after an illness of about two weeks' duration with grip and heart trouble. Mr. Milbert was born May 30, 1858, at Burlington Flats, the oldest son of Bernard Milbert and Magdalene Betendorf, and his early life was spent on his parents' farm. He was three times married. His first wife was Kathrina Brady of Burlington, by whom he had one daughter, Kathrina, who lives at home. His second wife was Margaret Moran. She also had one daughter, Rose, now Mrs. Floyd Curry of Burlington Flats. His third wife was Minnie Brady, who survives with her daughter Ruth. His entire life had been spent in or near Burlington Flats, where he was engaged in farming for several years. Later he went into the merchantile business at Burlington, where he remained for several years longer, going from there to West Burlington where he kept a store for a few years before moving to Schuyler Lake last November ... He also leaves three sisters, Mrs. George Banks, of Little Falls; Mrs. Alfred Sponable of Chamdux, and Mrs. William Spencer of West Burlington; two brothers, Charles of Schuyler Lake, and Damon of Burlington Flats, a little grandson, Francis Curry, and several nieces and nephews. His funeral was held at his home on Thursday afternoon, the Rev. Mr. Austin of Edmeston officiating, with interment at Springfield Centre."
