"BURLINGTON FLATS Mrs. Addie Sponable passed away Saturday morning May 19, at about 7 o'clock, after only a short illness, and about a weeks' acute illness during which time she was confined to her bed, and suffered intently. Addie Milbert, daughter of Bernard and Magdaline Battendorf Milbert was born in the Milbert homestead in the town of Burlington, June 4, 1868. She was married to G. Alfred Sponable of this place, and they spent their entire lives in this community, with the exception of a brief stay in Chaumont. To them were born three children, Earl I., now chief technical engineer of the Fox-Case Corporation, of New York, producers of Movietone; Laura, of New Berlin, and Bernard, who made his home with his mother. Mrs. Sponable was a self-sacrificing mother, and had throughout her whole life exemplified service. The funeral was held Monday, at 1 o'clock from the house, the Rev. Leonard Dibble, officiating. Besides the children above mentioned, two brothers and two sisters, Delmon Milbert and Charles Milbert, and Mrs. George Banks of Little Falls, and Mrs. Kate Spencer, of West Burlington, are the nearest surviving relatives."
