Mr. Bailey was born on December 10, 1926, in Pemiscot County and departed this life on Saturday, February 27th at the Pemiscot County Memorial Hospital at the age of 55 years, 2 months and 17 days.
He was a member of the Glass Memorial Baptist Church, also a farmer in the Hayti area and was a merchant - having the Gulf Oil Co for this area for many years. Mr. Bailey was a veteran of World War II.
He was the son of Mrs. Beulah Bailey and the late Everett Bailey of Hayti.
On August 29, 1953 he was united in marriage to Bonnie Countess of Tupelo, Mississippi. To this union was born two sons - one son, John F. Bailey died in infancy.
Mr. Bailey leaves the following to mourn his passing: his wife, Mrs. Bonnie Countess Bailey of Hayti; one son, Robert L. (Bob) Bailey of Hayti; his mother, Mrs. Everett Bailey of Hayti; several aunts and uncles, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were George Merrell III, Linnie Watkins, Jr., Mike Curtis, Clarence Gurley, Robert Newman and Troy McCullough.
John W. German Funeral Home of Hayti was in charge of services.
