Ellen Ford Carr age 80 passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2012. Services will be held at 2PM Monday, September 10, at First Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Bradley officiating. Burial will follow at West View Cemetery.

Mrs. Carr was born in Brewton, Georgia but was a long-time resident of Milledgeville. She had made her home in Alpharetta for the past 16 years. She was a retired Registered Nurse and worked at Central State Hospital and also at Baldwin County Hospital for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband Carswell Carr, a daughter Mandy Carr her son Chris Carr, brothers and sisters, Ruby Dell Boyko, Kate Allen, James Ford and Mark Clifford Ford. She was a member of First Baptist Church and sung in the church choir. She was a Hospice Volunteer for many years.

Ellen was a woman of strong character who left a mark of love and cheer with family, friends and caregivers throughout her life.

Survivors include her daughter Ruthie Carr Lasky and son-in-law Steve of Alpharetta, two grandchildren, Aaren Lasky and Curry Carr, a daughter-in-law Jane Childs Carr of Decatur, two sister-in-laws, Sue Carr of Milledgeville and Sylvia Ford of Ft. Valley and a number of beloved nieces and nephews.
