Excerpt from his obituary:
Mr. Alaniz served as a Sgt. in the U.S. Army from 1941 to 1945. He then joined the U.S. Air Force as Airman 2nd Class until December 1952. He was recipient of the Purple Heart as well as other numerous decorations during his participation in World War II.
He was a member of the V.F.W. Unit at La Joya, and also a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
