Mrs. Zureta France Timberlake, of East Pike, Indiana, died in St. Francis Hospital in Pittsburgh, Tuesday afternoon, February 24, after an illness of several weeks.
Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. C.D. France of Vandergrift. She was born in Vandergrift and lived there until she entered Indiana Teacher's College in 1912, from which she was graduated in 1915. After graduating she taught school for several years.
On December 25, 1917 she was married to E. Dale Timberlake of Indiana, and continued to teach school until Mr. Timberlake returned from overseas service. Since 1920 the Timberlakes have made their home in Indiana.
An active member of the First Methodist, she was District President of the Women's Society of Christian Servce at the time of her death. Other organizations in which she was active were The American Legion Auxiliary, Mothers of Democracy, D.A.R., the American Red Cross and the Indiana Musical Club.
Surviving are her husband, E. Dale Timberlake, two sons, Dale France Timberlake of Schnectady, NY, Fred C., at Westminster College; a daughter, Zureta (Mrs. A.D. Evans, Jr.) at home, and one granddaughter, Michel Eveans. Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Robert F. Mitchel of Beaver and a brother, Guy W. France of Vandergrift.
Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery.
