Clara Elizabeth "Liz" Russell, 82, passed away on September 1st in Santa Cruz, California among friends, with a smile on her face. Born August 12th, 1930 in Meridian, Idaho to Ira and Nora Creekmore, she was a longtime resident of the Modesto area.
She spent her life as a homemaker, and beloved wife, mother, sister and friend. Her Christian faith was her guide and was evident in her charitable spirit.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Veryl Russell, daughter, Irma "Carrot" Russell, son, William Russell, six brothers and one sister.
She is survived by her son, Robert Russell of Modesto; daughters, Sue Yancey of Felton, California and Renee Roberts of Abilene, Kansas; brother, Donald Creekmore of Modesto; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and countless members of an adopted family of people endeared to her throughout the years by virtue of her kindness, humor, and charm.
Visitation will take place Friday, September 7th from 4:00PM to 8:00PM at Lakewood Memorial Park 900 Santa Fe Avenue, Hughson, California, and the funeral will be at 2:00PM Saturday, the 8th at the same location, with a graveside to follow.
