William "Blessit" Bynes was born September 15, 1945, to Cleveland and the late Mrs. Hattie Bynes in Waynesboro, Georgia. He grew up in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and attended Broward County Public Schools, graduating from Dillard High School in the Class of 1964. After graduation, he attended Kellogg's Community College in Battle Creek, Michigan.
William worked for the Longshoreman's Local 1526A for the past twelve years.
He joined the Bethel Baptist Church Family in 1989 where he served faithfully as Deacon and on the Pastor's Aide Board until his death. On July 8,1989, he was united in Holy Matrimony to Angela McLendon.
On April 4,1997, at 3:47p.m., at Columbia Plantation General Hospital, he departed this life.
"Blessit" will be greatly missed by: His Devoted Wife --Angela Bynes; Seven Sons -- William Jr., Patrick, Greg, Steve, Patrick, Stephen and Herman; Three Daughters - Wanda, Alexis and Sage; His Father -- Cleveland Bynes; Eight Brothers -- Ed Willie, Willie, James, Andrew, Fred, John Mark, Roosevelt and Josephus; Two Sisters - Louise and Bernice; One God-Sister -- Irene Hooks; Fifteen Grandchildren, Two God-Daughters, Nine Sisters-in-Law, Father and Mother-in-law — George and Josephine McLendon; Two Brothers-in-law; a Devoted Friend - Verdis Coppette and a host of other relatives and friends.
