Doc was born to Fred & Vina (Prevo) Allain. He was a machine operator in the bindery department for Hinde & Dauch in Detroit and later worked for Robins Printing Company in Livonia. He married Claire Melina Cloutier on January 29, 1944 in Detroit. The couple vacationed at Houghton Lake from 1968 until 1985 when they moved here from Livonia. He worked for Markey Township for several years as caretaker and cemetery sexton of Crestview Cemetery. Doc was a member of St. James Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Allain is survived by his loving wife of 68 years Claire Allain of Houghton Lake, Daughter; Diane Nelson of Battle Creek, Daughter; Darlene (Thomas) Caimotto of Livonia, nine grandchildren; Scott, Christine, Robert, Brian, Jill, Karen, Thomas, Danielle, and Curtis; nineteen great grandchildren, Brother; Louis (Antoinette) Allain of Indian River, four half brothers; Arnold (Sandra) Mills of Alpena, Gene (Marius) Mills of Warren, Arlyn Mills of Alpena, John (Kathy) Mills of Alpena, Sister; Dorothy Scott of Alpena, Sister; Phyllis Monette of Alpena, half-sister; Jane (Terry) Matthes of Alpena. He was preceded in death by his son, David; sister, Cecelia Rouleau; and half brother Otis Mills Jr.
