Marion - Gertrude Freeman Haynes, 75, of Marion died Friday, Oct. 5, 2007, in a Florence hospital after an illness.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, 2007, in Waters-Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Florence. Entombment will follow in Mount Hope Mausoleum.
She was born in Marlboro County, a daughter of the late William Franklin and Carrie Sports Freeman. She graduated from Mullins High School and was retired from Wellman Inc.
Mrs. Haynes attended Shiloh United Methodist Church in Marion.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Leon Wayne Ford; her second husband, Maxie Haynes; and two brothers, Junius Freeman and Bobby Freeman.
Survivors include two daughters, Marilyn Ford of Columbia and Joyce Ford (Bruce) Godbold of Marion; two sons, Michael (Mary) Ford and Dennis (Connie) Ford, both of Florence; four sisters, Lottie Freeman and Willie Mae Turner, both of Mullins, Aline Barrington of Bennettsville, and Edna McDowell of Blenheim; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
