Funeral services for William R. Bartz, Grimes, pioneer of western Oklahoma, who died at his home Thursday at 2:30 p.m. following an illness of one year and critical illness of two weeks, are pending arrival of relatives.
Mr. Bartz is survived by his wife of the home address and children.
Arrangements are in charge of Tunnard Funeral Home at Cheyenne and committal will be in the Cheyenne cemetery.

OBITUARY

William Richard Bartz was born in Crofton, Nebraska, May 7, 1875 and passed away Feb. 26, 1948, at Sweetwater, Oklahoma at the age of 72 years, nine months and 19 days. In 1899 he was married to Ida Lewrick, who preceded him in death June 5, 1932. To this union were born four children, two sons and two daughters. One daughter, Mrs. Nellie Brown, preceded him in death. He came to Roger Mills County in 1910, located near Sweetwater, Okla., where he lived until his passing. He had been in failing health for six years. In 1934 he united in marriage with Onita Forrest. She and one son were at his bed side when he passed away. One sister Mrs. Monnie Beecher of Crofton, Nebraska and one brother, Earnest Bartz of Sweetwater, Okla., preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his passing; the wife of the home address, Freeland and Vern Bartz and Velma Tramp of Crofton, Nebraska. Two step-children, Della May Fitzgerald of Reydon, Okla., and Le Roy Laney of Los Angeles, California, three sisters, Mrs. Bertha Sinerum, of Waukomis, Okla., Mrs. Emma Lord of Portland, Oregon and Mrs. Anna Harrison of Denver, Colorado; two brothers, Charles W. Bartz of Crofton, Nebraska and Otto Bartz of Fulton, Mo., twenty-one grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
