Jim Parkhurst, 77, of Cheyenne, was born March 16, 1913 in Canton, Okla., and passed away Monday, April 2, 1990 in the Sayre Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.
Jim, the son of Elza H. and Amanda M. Parkhurst, moved with his parents to the Clinton, Butler area as a young man. He lived in California for a time before moving to Cheyenne in 1970.
On Jan, 27, 1970, he married Patricia Ann Riley in Wheeler, TX., they continued to make their home in Cheyenne. He was a member of the Cheyenne Pentecostal Church and was a retired city employee.
Preceding him in death were his parents, 1 sister, Emma, and 1 brother, John.
Survivors include; his wife, Pat of the home; 7 daughters, Sallie Jean Parkhurst of the home; Leta Joy Robinson of Sacremento, Calif, Bessie Mae Speer of Fairfield, Calif., Nancy lee Speer of Pinole, Calif, Jimmie Lee Templin of Tishomingo, Okla., Becky Gwen Horton of Gage, Okla., Gail Keefer of Mertzon, TX; 2 sons, Jesse James Parkhurst of the home, Bill Rowe of Canyon, TX; 2 sisters, Rachel Bozarth of Cheyenne, Maud Cowan of Sutter, Calif., 2 brothers, Charles Pakrhurst, Cheyenne, Roy Parkhurst of Burns Flat; 20 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, April 5, 1990 at 10:00 a.m. in the First Baptist Church with Juanice Parkhurst officiating. Interment will follow in the Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service of Cheyenne.
