Mr. Abell was born Jan. 19, 1893 in Buena Vista, Ia. He was a World War I veteran and a retired employee of the Chicago North Western railroad. He had lived in Rock Falls most of his life, but moved to Clinton seven years ago.
Surviving are his widow; three sons, Paul of Sterling; Lloyd of Thomson; and Otto, with the Air Force in Montana; a daughter, Margaret C. Abell, at home; three brothers, Len and Lloyd, both of Rock Falls, and Otto, Paw Paw; and two sisters, Nettie Abell, Rock Falls, and Mrs. John Sieling, Dixon.
