Mrs. Turner received her B.A. from Coker College. Her employment history included administrative assistant to two college presidents and teacher at Houston Elementary School. A member of First Baptist Church, Spartanburg, she taught Second Grade Sunday School for over 50 years. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren for whom she helped care for as they grew up, and she always wanted to be helpful and see the best in others.
Surviving are her son, James David Turner and wife Amy Pecht of Travelers Rest, SC; daughter, Helen Lee Turner and husband Claude N. Stulting, Jr. of Greenville, SC; her grandchildren, E. Bennett Stulting Chiles and Chris Chiles of Santa Monica, California; J. Forest Stulting and Turner S. Stulting of Greenville; and her niece, Marilyn Bennett Collins of Bennettsville. She is predeceased by siblings Harold and Joseph Bennett and Edna Bennett Skym.
The family received friends 12:45 PM on Saturday, September 1, at Fernwood Baptist Church with the service conducted by the Rev. Dr. Kirk H. Neely followed at 1:15 PM. Interment was at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
