Hazel Mae Roden, age 86, passed away Friday, February 1, 2002, in the Seymour Hospital. Funeral services were held Sunday, February 3, 2002, at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Seymour, with Rev Larry Crumpton, Pastor, officiating. Interment was in the Seymour Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Seymour Memorial Funeral Home.

She married Orville Roden on October 1, 1932, in Munday, Texas. He preceded her in death on August 8, 1993.

Mrs. Roden was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Escalator Sunday School Class, and was a 60 year member of the Plainview Extension Education Club.

Survived by her three daughters, Berma Cox and her husband, Richard, of Seymour, Texas, Janette Crownover of Seymour, Texas, and Pasty Perkins and her husband, Ralph of Wichita Falls, Texas; a brother, J.B. Booe of Munday, Texas; two sisters, Gladys Hunter & Mary Frances Stewart, both of Munday, Texas; by five grandchildren, Lezlie Hoover, Bradley Cox, Andy Robertson, Trent Perkins and Whitney Perkins; and by several great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Leza Robertson on December 11, 1991.
