Harness Earl "Jock" Alt, 90, of Verona died Thursday afternoon, Oct. 8, 1992 in King's Daughters' Hospital. He was born Aug. 7,1902 in Grant County, W. Va., a son of David C. and Virginia Kimble Alt.
On October 9, 1937 he married Ella Viola Wagner, who died Dec. 15,1980. He had attended the United Methodist Church. He was a retired farmer and had been employed as a shovel operator for 35 years. Survivors include a daughter, Helen A. Sullivan of Verona; two sisters, Nina Sabo and Dora Van Meter, both of Petersburg, W. Va.; three brothers, Luther of Harrisonburg, Arch of Cumberland, Md., and Raymond Alt of Petersburg, W. Va.; and three grandsons and one great-granddaughter. A service was conducted 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Rudy Tucker, Jr. Burial was in Blue Grass Cemetery.
