Old Resident Passes
The death of Mrs. Margaret Going Saturday marks the passing of another of the good old Pioneer mothers of Jackson. Mrs. Going had been an esteemed and respected resident of Jackson since 1862 when she arrived in California with her husband from the Emeral Isle where she was born. Her life in our midst, 52 year has been one of usefulness, during which she earned the respect of the entire community. Her husband preceded her to the grave some 24 years ago. Mrs. Going has left to mourn the loss of a loving mother, six children all grown to manhood and womanhood, two sons, John and William, and four daughters, Ella and Elizabeth Going and Mrs. E.T. Purcell of this city and Mrs. Martin Fraser, all of whom were here to attend the funeral. Services were held Tuesday in St. Patrick's church.
