William F. Boblit, who was fatally shot Tuesday night, was born in Springfield, Kentucky, Sept. 26, 1865, being at the time of death 61 years of age. He was married to Lottie Bock, April 12, 1902. In 1900 he came to Emmetsburg, taking up residence on a farm east of town. After farming two years he engaged in the hog business, which occupation he was following at the time he died.

The deceased leaves four children, Mrs. Goldie Newton of Fredericksburg, Va., Leland of Emmetsburg, Franklin and Marvin of Sioux City. Also three brothers, Richard of Springfield, Ky., Henry of Springfield, Ill., and Lee of Norcross, Minn.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon from the Methodist Church.

It Is hard to picture Mr. Boblit in the affray that caused his death. He was always one to quiet trouble instead of start it, and we are led to believe that he was actlng as a charitable peacemaker when shot.
