Mrs. Lindsey, worked the book mobile for the library, and worked for the museum in Homer as a volunteer. She placed many items in the museum on loan to share with her community and enjoyed being part of the culture of Homer. Mrs. Lindsey loved reading her Guardian Journal even after she moved to Texas. Mrs. Lindsey was a lifetime member of the Homer Eastern Star. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Homer and volunteered for many groups in Homer by making crafts and sweets. She was well known for the many Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls that she made and gave to children.
Mrs. Lindsey is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harry Lindsey, her son Fred Lindsey and her sister Elizabeth Doerge Allison.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012 at the Homer Arlington Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Her family will receive guests for visitation at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 405 E. 5th St., Homer, LA, on Saturday, from the hours of 12:30-1:30 p.m.
