He married Sarah McWhorter/Mawhorter on 4 April 1867 in Tama County, Iowa. They had 7 children, 5 whom lived into adulthood.
He was a farmer and lived many years in Greenwood, Cass County Nebraska.
After the death of his first wife Sarah, Isaac remarried Martha Haller on 3 April 1884 in Greenwood, Cass County, Nebraska. They had 4 children, 3 whom lived into adulthood.
He and Martha moved in 1912 to Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California where he lived for another 15 years before dying at his home on 28 Dec 1926 at 3:00 pm. from Pulmonary Edema contributory condition Chronic Nephritis. He was buried on 3 Jan 1927 in Forest Lawn Glendale, Los Angeles County, California.
