Henry Souders
34th Reg't Enrolled Missouri Militia US
Capt. Henry Souders was born June 11, 1832, died Jan.19, 1910 Buried at Gibson Cemetery at Jakes Prairie in Crawford County. Commanding officer of Company G 34th Regiment of Enlisted Missouri Militia Enrolled August 25, 1862 in Gasconade County. Ordered to active service Sept. 28, 1864. Relieved from active service Nov. 12, 1864.

From "Cemetery Records of Crawford Co., Mo." 1998: As a young man he would guide wagon trains from Indiana to Missouri. At 16 years, he married Sarah Ann Gibson, this was in 1852. After Sarah's death he married Martha Hinkle. They had no children, she died in 1887. In 1892 he married Ella Souders, they had 8 children.
