MRS. JAMES JENKINS DIES AT HOME OF HER SON: Mrs. James Jenkins passed away at the home of her son, Henry, at Oak Hill on Sunday, December 28, at the age of 73 years and 10 days. Mrs. Jenkins had been ill of a heart ailment for the past two years and had been critically ill for the past several weeks. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon, December 29, from the home at 1:30 to the Oak Hill Church with interment in the Oak Hill Cemetery. Rev. H. E. Stahlhut of Owensville conducted the services.

Nancy Jane Jenkins was born at Oak Hill on December 18, 1870, a daughter of the late Captain Henry Souders and his wife, Sally Ann, nee Gibson. On August 17, 1890, she was united in marriage at Oak Hill to James Jenkins and to this union eight children were born, one of whom preceded her parents in death. Her husband and two step-daughters died several years ago. She is survived by one son and six daughters, as follows: Henry, of Oak Hill; Mrs. Alice, Homfeldt, Mrs. Dora Foster and Mrs. Grace Hengstenberg of St. Louis; Mrs. Florence Hengstenberg of Owensville; Mrs. Nellie Ackermann and Mrs. Effie Ackermann of Cuba, Route One. Also surviving are eighteen grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; three half brothers and one half-sister.

Mrs. Jenkins had lived her entire lifetime in the Oak Hill community and was well-known and liked by everyone. She had resided for the past 50 years on the farm where she died.
