WALKERTOWN - Mr. J.C. Fulp, 82, of Walkertown died Saturday, June 10, 2006, at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Fulp was born Nov. 13, 1923, to Brantson B. and Flora Magee Fulp. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy M. Fulp; and son Keith A. Fulp, of the home. Mr. Fulp was a retired contractor, a real-estate developer and a licensed highway contractor. He was a member of Loves United Methodist Church, a member of Walkertown Lions Club since 1957 and the chairman of the Advisory Board of Directors of the Walkertown branch of First Union National Bank for many years. Mr. Fulp was an Army veteran of World War II, serving overseas for 32 months in the South and Southwest Pacific areas. He was with the first unit of the occupation troops sent to Kobe, Japan. He had been in declining health for several years. Preceding him in death were his parents; and sisters Iva Fulp, Ola Sell, Annie Hester Beeson, Versie Beeson and Lora Hester. Surviving in addition to his wife and son are sisters Connie Day and Lorene Wall; and a brother, Harvey B. Fulp. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 15, at Loves United Methodist Church. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum of Gardens of Memory, of which he was one of the founders. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, at Voglers Reynolda Chapel. Memorials may be directed to Loves United Methodist Church Building Fund; Hospice; or Morris Chapel United Methodist Church Building Fund. The family wishes to thank the staff of the ninth floor and the neuro ICU at Forsyth Medical Center for their care and special treatment.
